Parque das Nações will no longer be an island in Lisbon
It is already considered “the real estate project of the century” in Lisbon. By 2020, almost a decade after the approval of the Detailed Zoning Plan, the transformation of the plots of land linking Marvila to Parque das Nações will finally begin. The project features more than two thousand apartments, a hotel, gardens, offices, shops and public amenities. From what exists today, the three gasometers will be maintained, “to preserve the memory of the industry that existed there,” says Luis Gamboa, chief operating officer (COO) of VIC Properties, the developer that acquired the land next to the Tagus earlier this year.
