VIC Properties will carry out the revitalisation of key outdoor spaces of several outdoor areas at Casa de São Vicente, reinforcing its commitment to improving living conditions for the Marvila community in Lisbon. This intervention follows the signing of a patronage protocol between the developer and the Private Social Solidarity Institution (IPSS), which has supported people with intellectual, sensory or motor disabilities since 1975.

Under this protocol, VIC Properties will be directly responsible for carrying out the works, providing materials, human resources, equipment and all necessary means to implement a wide range of improvements to Casa de São Vicente’s infrastructure. Planned interventions include the refurbishment of the sports field, the construction and enhancement of walking paths, the installation and replacement of outdoor fitness equipment, as well as improvements and maintenance support for access routes and the vegetable garden.

Luís Gamboa, co-founder and COO of VIC Properties, says:

“It is with deep pride and a strong sense of responsibility that we become patrons of Casa de São Vicente, an association that carries out remarkable and essential work every day. We believe that through this partnership it will be possible to create better conditions for everyone whose lives are impacted by Casa de São Vicente.”

Cristina Gomes, Vice President of Casa de São Vicente’s Board, adds:

“Casa de São Vicente — IPSS welcomes the signing of this patronage protocol with VIC Properties and also thanks the Marvila Parish Council for promoting this partnership.
This collaboration will allow the refurbishment and enhancement of the Institution’s outdoor spaces, creating better conditions for moments of social interaction, sharing and well-being, while also becoming an ideal space for promoting physical activity among the young people and adults with disabilities who attend our Institution daily.”

As the developer behind the Prata Riverside Village project, VIC Properties has, over recent years, played a significant role in driving the transformation of the Marvila area. Through this protocol, the company further underlines its dedication to the local community, fostering a neighbourhood with more opportunities and improved living conditions for all.

About Casa de São Vicente:

Founded on 27 July 1940 by Maria Antónia Plácido Melo Breyner (Countess of Mafra), Casa de São Vicente was established as a “Social Bank,” responding to the social needs of the most vulnerable population.

Over time, the Institution adapted to the changes and demands of society and, since 1977, has focused its work on supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Today, it operates as a Private Social Solidarity Institution (IPSS), keeping alive its mission of solidarity and social support, as well as its commitment to inclusion, well-being and the promotion of quality of life for those it supports daily through Residential Care and CACI services (Activity and Inclusion Training Centre).
