This position will be located at our Pinheirinho Melides, which many consider to be the best-kept secret of the Alentejo region. The workplace involves commuting between our headquarters in Lisbon and the Herdade do Pinheirinho in Melides.

VIC Properties is looking for a full-time Procurement Director to join our team!

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead, and execute procurement strategies according to defined planning;
  • Technically analyze projects, specifications, and quantity schedules;
  • Actively research suppliers and contractors;
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate proposals and comparative tables for the selection of suppliers and contractors;
  • Conduct cost analyses against the budget forecast for procurement;
  • Ability to anticipate various scenarios according to the market and potential impacts on the budget forecast;
  • Implement and assist in cost reduction strategies through technically viable alternatives related to various projects, in conjunction with the various teams involved from conception to execution;
  • Conduct research, analysis, and feasibility studies to assist in decision-making processes;
  • Ensure compliance with current contract regulations in the construction area;
  • Manage the entire purchasing process with the various project teams;
  • Manage logistics processes in conjunction with suppliers and production to ensure delivery deadlines according to needs;
  • Manage the evaluation process with performance indicators of suppliers and contractors according to feedback on services provided to the company.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Higher education in Civil Engineering, with 5 years of experience in procurement;
  • Proven experience in the construction sector;
  • Experience in project analysis;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills;
  • Experience in general contracts, preferably with a minimum value of €2M;
  • Great negotiation skills;
  • Ease in interpersonal relationships, versatility, and flexibility to adapt to different contexts and interlocutors;
  • Problem-solving ability;
  • Leadership and proactive ability;
  • Effective communication, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in portuguese and English;
  • Ability to use software related to administrative and engineering tasks, namely Autocad, MS Project, and Office suite;
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
